WHY I'M RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION

Why I’m Running for Re-Election
I’ve seen firsthand how our city’s growth can outpace our vision. Early in my years here, I watched as mining, blasting, rock-crushing and gravel extraction were permitted, even at the entrance to our beautiful community. I questioned why compact residential developments were approved when so much open land remained. It became clear that many vested development rights, granted long ago and without expiration dates, constrained today’s decision-making and led to densities our citizens hadn’t asked for.

From Concerned Citizen to Planning Commissioner
Motivated to restore balance, I sought a seat at the table. In December 2017, I was appointed to Eagle Mountain’s Planning Commission. There I learned that nearly 30,000 residential units were already entitled, many as higher density multi-family projects. Despite our best efforts to shift toward the neighborhoods our residents preferred, these entitlements remained a stumbling block. That challenge inspired me to work even harder to guide development toward the thoughtful, sustainable growth our city deserves.

Proven Record of Results
Since joining the City Council in January 2022, I have drawn on my commissioner experience to quickly identify and address key issues in land use, and gained increased capabilities in municipal  budgeting, contract negotiation, and personnel evaluation and oversight, all responsibilities of the city council. I have helped past and present council members understand the scope of their authority, encouraged stronger governance, and collaborated on policies, ordinances, resolutions, contracts and amendments that set our city on a more stable course.

Accountability & Transparency
I invite you to review the Planning Commission Results and City Council Results tabs on this site. There you will find some of the measures I helped produce or recommend, showcasing my commitment to consensus building, which is the most powerful tool a legislator can wield.

Vision for Tomorrow
As one of Utah’s fastest-growing communities, we face critical challenges in sewer, water and stormwater infrastructure, power reliability, financial stability and transportation. My guiding principle is to make today’s decisions based on tomorrow’s outcomes. Quality of life matters to me. It's what motivated me to make Eagle Mountain my home town decades ago. By focusing on these outcomes, I believe our best days are ahead.

Commitment to Service
Serving you requires sacrifice and dedication. Recently a resident called me the "rudder" of the council, gently guiding course corrections that make a meaningful difference, her words inspired me deeply and in part motivated me to seek a second term.

A Personal Promise
One of my mantras is, “If I’m no good to my friends and family then I’m no good to anyone.” If you have found value in my service and believe in the advocacy I bring, I humbly ask for your vote.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.
