BUSINESS EXPERIENCE

My career path began at the age of 15. I participated in a tour of a small business that specialized in producing bronze sculpture with my local Boy Scout Troop. I was genuinely intrigued by this creative process. I persistently pursued employment with the owner of this company. I eventually convinced him to take a chance on an inexperienced young man. My opportunity began as he allowed me to dig a 36” deep and 200 ft. long trench. This I accomplished with nothing more than a shovel and pick. In retrospect, I believe he was more interested in testing my work ethic and dependability. Once the trench was finished and I had apparently passed the test he invited me to his foundry operation where he gave me the task of hand mixing grout that I then carried up a ladder and dumped it into the cinderblock walls of his building expansion. Over the next couple of decades I learned all aspect of this business. In 1998 my wife Shelie and I purchased an ownership interest in this very business. Some 44 years later I serve as the Vice-President and Co-owner of this corporation.
